FROM SPAIN TO POLAND, FROM FINLAND TO SOUTH AFRICA: FOCUS ON DOZENS OF MAJOR PROJECTS
The latest Saba EMEA Regional User Group meeting, held on the 7 and 8 October 2004, was extremely successful in creating and enhancing a learning community which included all of Allos and Saba customers. The meeting, hosted at the ENI Corporate University Centre in Castel Gandolfo (near Rome), was attended by over 70 people from all around the world.
Generally speaking, during Regional User Group meetings, the groups usually determine their own agendas and emphasise best practice sharing, tips and techniques for successful problem solving, prioritising feedback for Saba product development and improvement.
Currently, Regional User Groups are meeting in the United States Eastern, Midwestern, and Western regions, as well as in Europe, Latin America and Asia Pacific. This year, Italy was chosen as ideal location for the event.
During the two-day conference, attendees shared best practices, gained practical knowledge, discussed learning approaches and learned how to link learning and performance for competitive advantage.
The agenda included topics such as the keynote speech by Saba founder and CEO Bobby Yazdani, company case studies, demonstrations and discussion groups. The meeting also provided customers with an in-depth look at the latest release of products and solutions. During the second day Yazdani, the driving force behind the Saba vision, products, and market direction, gave an interesting presentation on his vision and experience at Saba.
"Connecting people to the strategy, "said Yazdani" is what creates the future of a company. In his opinion, it is crucial that organisations recognize that their people are the key to their success and that success can be achieved by involving people and giving them full access to knowledge.
As a result, companies should adopt human capital development and management solutions to improve organizational performance by aligning, developing and measuring the performance of people. |
