IPM Conference at Sun City

Allos Consulting participated in the IPM Conference and Exhibition that took place from 28-31 August 2005 at Sun City

Visitors attending the IPM Exhibition could not help but notice the modern design, stainless steel flooring and paperless environment of the joint Allos / Eskom space. The aim of the exhibition was to demonstrate a clear cut, clean, modern, user friendly and paperless environment that caters for all your needs – exactly what the Allos e-learning model is all about.

Visitors from across the globe attended the 49th Annual IPM Conference and Exhibition. Most of the visiting delegates agreed that the modern and sophisticated look, combined with the friendly assistance they received is exactly what an e-learning eco-system should be about.

The Human Resources field is becoming more and more complex with new legislation, trends and disciplines emerging on a regular basis. It is important that HR practitioners stay in touch with their field of expertise, including the systems used to enable their processes.

As Johnny Taylor, renowned speaker from the USA said: “…it is time that HR Practitioners start Implementing HR, prophesizing HR, Doing HR and most importantly Aligning HR within their organisations…”

Mr. Tom Boardman, CEO of NEDBANK, stated that: “…companies should start looking more at how they can retain staff and add value to their staff and the organisation than just wanting to increase company return on investment…” He went further to say that: “…your staff is your investment and your most valuable asset…”

Allos and Eskom demonstrated at the exhibition that modern technology, ease of use and human interaction can make any e-learning project work. Both Allos and Eskom were extremely proud of this joint venture and the Project Sponsor of Eskom, Mr. Moodley stated that “the partnership has proven to be extremely successful for both Eskom and Allos.”

But HR is not all about HR practitioners – although they are the driving force –organisations must also focus on the technology aspect.
